Painting Bricks Shawl

I have been enjoying the repetitive nature of one of my current Works in Progress (WIPs). As soon as I recieved my Blossom Cottage Club hanks from Elderflower Stitches, I knew that they would be perfect for the Painting Bricks Shawl by Stephen West.

I thought a lot about the main colour to frame each of the colour blocks within the shawl & had a clear idea that it should allow the other colours to be the star of the show. As soon as I saw Puffing Chimney Tops from Suzie at ElderFlower Stitches, I knew it was the perfect foundation for this shawl.

I am nicknaming this project my Elderflower Stitches project. All the yarn is from Suzie as well the adorable project bag I am keeping the shawl in.

There is a beautiful rhythm to the shawl, slipped stitches, knits and purls with colourwork sprinkled in. I am finding myself gravitating towards this WIP all the time.

I am on the final colour repeat of the main body of the shawl before I start on the border. Crescent shawls are quite tricky to photograph whilst they are still on the needles.

What’s your current favourite project? What keeps calling your name?
