I recently stumbled across a group on Ravelry called the Year of Projects. It’s in its 16th year. The group runs from 1 July through to 30 June, with a weekly check-in type post on Sundays. All are welcome, and you can join anytime. It’s a low-key fun way to keep yourself on track and to meet other crafters around the globe.
So, here I am, making some kind of plan to participate in this group. In terms of my plans for projects, I don’t want to make any firm promises of what I’d like to work on. I don’t tend to fair very well with a rigid structure. That said, here is my list for Year 16:
- Knit 1 pair of socks
- Make 3 plant pot coasters
- Finish 4 cross stitch works in progress (WIPs)
- Start 2 new cross stitch projects
- Make a mug rug
- Make 1 knitted dress
- Re-knit collar on Grist sweater
- Re-knit sleeve cuffs on Sea Glass cardigan
- Finish sewing circle skirt
- Make scrapbook for trip to Canada
- Fully Finish Harper Tee
- Make at least 2 Christmas cards per month
- Add length to sleeves on Stornoway sweater
- Make tank-style top in cotton yarn
- Make 1 cardigan
- Make 1 sweater
- Use 25% of current yarn stash
I am not going to make any promises to stick rigidly to this list. I have tried to add some more general projects as well as some more specific projects. My hope is to make this a fun way to make progress on my crafting projects without too much pressure.
